About Sylvie

Sylvie Meis was born on April 13, 1978 in Breda, the Netherlands. She began her career at an early age: After  receiving her Bcs diploma in HR management, she had her first job posing for the camera at just 18, thus laying the foundation for her career. Not long after her initial success as a model, she got started in television – as an MTV VJ in the Netherlands. Among other things, she hosted the annual TMF Awards event and interviewed top celebrities like Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue. Sylvie quickly climbed the ladder of success. After guest appearances in numerous video clips, Sylvie got her first TV role in the Dutch TV series “Costa,” where she proved her skills as an actress. Sylvie revealed herself to be an all-round talent even back then: In addition to her work as a model, host, and actress, she made her debut as a designer and brought her first jewelry line, “PURE by Sylvie,” to the Dutch market.

From 2008 to 2011, she was part of the talent show “Das Supertalent” on the German network RTL and won the audience over as a charming jury member alongside Dieter Bohlen and Bruce Darnell. Sylvie has always been an independent, ambitious and strong willed modern woman who has firmly pursued her goals in life.

Not even a breast cancer diagnosis in June 2009 could stop her and she overcame the disease. Since that time, she has been a dedicated ambassador for several charity organizations, including “DKMS Life” and “Pink Ribbon.” She campaigns for those affected by the disease, as well as for early detection and cure.

In 2010 she took part in the TV Show “Let’s Dance” ( Strictly Come Dancing) and finished second place.  Since 2011 Sylvie hosts the show together with Daniel Hartwich.  Both were recognized with a Bavarian TV award in 2012 for their hosting duties.

Sylvie has received many awards and recognitions throughout her career: In 2009, Maxim magazine named her “Woman of the Year.” One year later, in 2010, Radio Regenbogen selected her “Woman of the Year” in the media category.

In 2011 and 2016, she was honored in Vienna with a “Leading Ladies Award”, the most significant women’s prize in Austria. Sylvie has also found success in advertisements: From 2010 to 2013, she was the brand ambassador for the L’Oreal Professional hair care line. As the face of Gillette Fusion, she was the first woman to advertise both men’s razors as well as woman’s products from this brand. She has also provided testimonials for The Phone House, the telecommunications provider, and for Philips Sonicare since five years.

True to herself she kept following her dreams and thus made her ultimate dream to work as a designer come true. As brand ambassador for the lingerie label Hunkemöller, Sylvie launched a lingerie, swimwear and  sportswear collection under the name “The Sylvie Collection” and also created her own perfume for the lingerie company.

Her first shoe collection, in collaboration with Deichmann, was also a great success. Her collection of party heels in 2015 was followed one year later by  a collection of overknee boots.

She enchanted  audiences as the narrator for the Holiday on Ice figure skating show “Believe” until March 2017.

Sylvie is also a constant presence on Dutch TV. In 2016, she hosted  “Wedden dat ik het kan,” the Dutch version of the German show “Wetten, dass …?”.

In 2015, she formed her own company Meis Enterprise , located in Hamburg. In 2016, Sylvie also ventured behind the camera, after many years in front of it. She became a producer and created television and viral spots for herself and other famous personalities, such as Instagram Queen Pamela Reif. At the end of the year 2016 she landed another coup: Sylvie announced her first lingerie and swimwear line: Sylvie Flirty Designs which will be launched in Autumn 2017. This enterprise allows her to fulfill her dream of designing and having her own lingerie and swimwear collection.
